Modern arts and baroque gardens, a prospering University and the memory of the Brothers Grimm, a unique selection of museums and two UNESCO world heritage sites make Kassel a fascinating diverse and interesting place to visit.

The University of Kassel was founded 1971 but it could build on the century-old tradition of other academic institutions. Today the University is the motor of cultural and economic development of the region and beyond. It is characterized by a multi-layered competence network that is focused on nature, technology, culture and arts.

Kassel is located right in the center of Germany and can be reached comfortably by train and car. There are regular direct express train connections to the international airports in Frankfurt, Hamburg and Munich.

The EnvioInfo 2019 is hosted by the Center for Environmental Systems Research (CESR) that constitutes an important part of the environmental competency of the University of Kassel. The Center is known for its policy-relevant environmental research from a systems perspective, in particular in the context of global change, resource use and sustainability science.

Conference venue is the new Campus Center located at the main campus of the University of Kassel right in the heart of the city. On an area of more than 5000 m² it offers a variety of modern seminar rooms and lecture halls.
